Hidden disabilities (also called invisible disabilities) are physical, mental, or neurological conditions that are not immediately apparent to others but can significantly impact a person’s daily life. Unlike visible disabilities, hidden disabilities do not have obvious signs like a wheelchair, cane, or hearing aid. These can include (but are not limited to): Neurological or Cognitive Conditions: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) Learning disabilities like dyslexia Mental Health Conditions: Depression Anxiety disorders Bipolar disorder PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) Chronic Illnesses: Chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) Fibromyalgia Lupus Diabetes Crohn’s disease Sensory Disabilities: Auditory processing disorder Sensory processing disorder Partial hearing loss or vision loss Common Challenges Because these disabilities aren’t visible, people with hidden disabilities often face: *Misunderstanding or judgment (“You don’t look disabled.”) *Lack of accommodations or recognition in school, work, or public spaces *Stigma surrounding mental illness or chronic pain *Need to repeatedly explain or prove their condition Why Awareness Matters *Just because someone looks fine doesn’t mean they’re not struggling. *Making environments more accessible (e.g., flexible work arrangements, quiet spaces, clearer communication) helps everyone. Awareness can lead to better support, empathy, and inclusion.
Every individual deserves support that honors who they are—not who the world expects them to be. Our behavior therapy services are designed with a neuro-affirming lens, ensuring that your child’s unique strengths, communication style, and sensory needs are respected every step of the way.
We provide both online and in-person ABA-based interventions, grounded in evidence-based practices but delivered with empathy, dignity, and collaboration. Our approach focuses on building meaningful skills, strengthening family relationships, and creating environments where neurodivergent individuals can truly thrive.
What We Offer • Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that prioritize autonomy and emotional safety • Support with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and school collaboration • ABLLS-R & AFLS assessments to guide learning goals in a strengths-based way • Parent coaching sessions that empower families with practical, respectful strategies • Sensory-aware, communication-supportive interventions tailored to each learner
Why Families Choose Us ✓ Neuro-affirming, child-led, and respectful practices ✓ Focus on real-world independence—never compliance for the sake of compliance ✓ BCBA/IBA-supervised programs to ensure ethical and high-quality care ✓ Flexible scheduling with online and in-person options ✓ Support that values your child’s identity, interests, and natural way of learning
